Distribution of Korean Studies Resources

Overview

The Korea Foundation, under its commitment to support education, research and other activities to deepen understanding of Korea around the world, distributes various publications in Korean and foreign languages and multimedia materials to universities, public libraries, research institutes and cultural and arts facilities overseas.

Eligibility

University, College, Public Library, Museum, and Research Institute in Overseas (Individuals are not eligible)

Available Materials

  1. 01 Books and audio-visual materials on Korea (In the field of humanities, social science, culture, arts and Korean textbooks)
  2. 02 Applicants can select materials from the list on the BooksonKorea website.
  3. 03 Applicants can also request materials not listed on the BooksonKorea website by submitting bibliographic information of the requested materials.

Support Details

Reference materials equivalent to 2 million Korean won per organization.
(Postage will be paid separately by the Foundation.)

All support materials will be shipped by seamail.
For destinations where seamail service is not available, materials will be sent by airmail.

Time of Shipment

March, June, September, and December (4 times a year)

Application Procedure

  1. 01 Visit our online application system booksonKorea (www.booksonkorea.org), register as a member, and complete the online application form.
  2. 02 Application Period: Any time of the year

    In case you apply during November and December, your application may be postponed to next year due to the time takes on the delivery.

  3. 03 Applicant institutions can apply for the program once a year.
  4. 04 Material that has already received support is not eligible for any further support. (No overlapping support)

Evaluation Criteria

  1. 01 Number of volumes and usage of the Korea-related materials
  2. 02 Status of Korean Studies or Korean language courses at the applicant institution

The Foundation makes efforts to diversify the program beneficiary in terms of country and region.
