2024 KF ASEAN Culture House
Open Call for Exhibition Proposal Applications

The KF ASEAN Culture House (KF-ACH) will be accepting exhibition proposal applications with the goal of hosting various exhibitions to introduce ASEAN cultures to Korean and foreign residents in Korea, as well as to provide an opportunity for domestic and international visual arts experts to plan exhibitions.
We welcome applications from all interested individuals and organizations.

1. Application Overview

A. Title: 2024 KF ASEAN Culture House Open Call for Exhibition Proposal Applications
B. Details of the Application

ㅇ Field: Exhibition planning
ㅇ Content: Free-themed exhibitions featuring visual arts (painting, sculpture, media art, design, installation art, etc.) reflecting the cultures of ASEAN or Korea-ASEAN connections
ㅇ Exhibition Directions
- Enhancing understanding of ASEAN arts and culture among Korean and foreign residents in Korea
- Recognition of diplomatic relations occasions occurring in 2024 between Korea and ASEAN countries
- Reflecting the vision and objectives of the KF-ACH
- Incorporating educational significance for children and youth, who are major visitors to the KF-ACH
- Planning additional programs related to the exhibition (e.g. a discussion with participating artists)

C. Eligible Applicants

ㅇ Domestic/international individual experts or organizations in the field of visual arts
ㅇ Able to plan and run an exhibition during the year 2024
ㅇ Experience in planning at least 3 exhibitions within the last 5 years

D. Application Period: September 20-October 27, 2023 (18:00 KST)

F. Required Documents: Application Form (attached), Exhibition Proposal, Portfolio, Agreement on Collection and Use of Personal Information (attached)
G. Number of Selected Applicants: Up to 2 applicants will be selected
※ If submitted proposals do not meet the criteria herein, a final selection may not be made.
H. Support upon Selection

ㅇ Provision of exhibition space (KF-ACH’s Special Exhibition Gallery)
ㅇ Honorarium of KRW 15,000,000 (including taxes) for exhibition planning
※ Exhibition expenses will be executed directly by the KF-ACH (up to KRW 100,000,000 including taxes) apart from the honorarium.

 

2. Exhibition Overview

A. Exhibition Period: Between March and November 2024 (with a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 3 months per exhibition)
B. Exhibition Venue: Special Exhibition Gallery (1F) of the KF-ACH (located at 162 Jwadong-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, Republic of Korea)
C. Exhibition Budget: Up to KRW 100,000,000 (including taxes)
D. Host/Organizer: KF ASEAN Culture House

3. Schedule (subject to change depending on external circumstances)

ㅇ Open Call: September 20-October 27, 2023
ㅇ Submission: By October 27, 2023 (18:00 KST)
ㅇ Eligibility Check and Document Review: October 28-November 5, 2023
ㅇ Announcement of Interview Candidates: 2nd week of November 2023

ㅇ Interview Evaluation: 3rd week of November 2023
ㅇ Announcement of Final Selection: 4th week of November 2023
