ASEAN Culture House exhibits several new pieces of artwork donated by ASEAN member countries in the Permanent Exhibition Hall. Come take in these exhibits and experience the beauty of ASEAN art and culture.
Harp
Traditional saung harp from Myanmar’s Pyu period (2nd c. BCE–11th c. CE)
Xylophone
Traditional pattala xylophone, introduced during the Innwa period (14–16th c. CE)
Pot Drum
Folk drum, played with accompaniment from traditional pipes, cymbals, and bamboo clappers during happy occasions

Khon Mask: Tosakanth (ทศกัณฐ์)
The green devil Tosakanth has 10 faces and 20 arms. He was originally on the side of the angels, but due to discord with the god Vishnu, was reincarnated as an evil figure.

Benjarong Ceramic Elephant
A ceramic sculpture of an elephant, Thailand’s national animal and a beloved symbol of Thai culture

In olden times, Thai children were given the traditional Chook hairstyle, which was believed to protect them from heat and disease.
