Tida’s family lives in a floating house on Tonle Sap, the largest lake in Asia. Early in the morning, she and her younger sister Bopha head to the shore carrying a hen and a chick in their boat. Sombat, a neighborhood friend, always yells “Let’s go, Tida!” on their way to school. The youngest sibling, Pou, takes a nap next to the children’s mother as she prepares a fish. This pristine lake is home to many Cambodian families enjoying their lives. The illustrations in this book are so full of life that they seem to be happening before your eyes, as if you have traveled into the lives of Tida’s family. This picture book is written in both Khmer and Korean, offering a unique experience that allows readers with different native languages to relate through the same book.
