Korean Communities in Southeast Asia: Change and Continuity

On March 11, the ASEAN Culture House (ACH) held an academic conference entitled “Korean Communities in Southeast Asia: Change and Continuity” at the Seminar Room on the second floor of the ACH. It was organized by the Korean Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (KISEAS), the Association for Studies of Koreans Abroad (ASKA), and the Institute of Cross-Cultural Studies (ICCS) of the College of Social Sciences at Seoul National University. The conference provided researchers with a focus on ASEAN countries with an opportunity to present their findings about the experiences, challenges and changes faced by Korean people living in seven ASEAN countries, including Vietnam and Indonesia. In doing so, they helped the audience to learn about Korean communities in Southeast Asia.
