The Teacher’s Diary (Khid thueng withaya) is a Thai romantic drama that follows the story of two teachers who are assigned to the same rural school, which lacks electricity and water, one year apart from each other. The two teachers write down their thoughts in the same diary, and with each finding eventually the notes of the other, they fall in love. The film is based on a real school and was shot in the beautiful background of Kaeng Krachan National Park, and features a sweet soundtrack by popular Thai band 25hours. “The Teacher’s Diary” was also selected as the Thai entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards with its cinematic quality.
