2019 Easy Access Brunei Darussalam

The ACH held the “2019 Easy Access Brunei Darussalam” program from March 14–17, as the first in the 2019 Easy Access ASEAN series. The program was co-organized by the ASEAN Culture House together with the Embassy of Brunei in Korea and the Association of Korea Travel Writers.
On the 14th, Chae Ji-hyeong, author of Walk-O-Holic of the Earth and Becoming a Travel Writer Starting Today, and Nur. Atiqah Raduan, a student from Brunei who is studying in Korea, hosted a special travel workshop. Participants enjoyed a rewarding experience, learning tips for traveling in Brunei Darussalam and discovering the many commonalities and points of difference between South Korea and Brunei.
On the 16th and 17th, experience activities were held for both children and adults. Families who took part in the cultural experience program for children learned the art of Bruneian umbrella making using articles symbolic of the country. Participants of the traditional Bruneian cooking class for adults put on their chef’s hats and prepared prawn fritters and a sweet potato and sago porridge.
Through these events, a great number of participants were given the chance to experience the culture of Brunei Darussalam. The ACH will feature a new country in the Easy Access ASEAN series every month in order to introduce the unique culture and charm of each of the ASEAN member states.
