The 4th ASEAN Culture House Design Contest

  • Grand Prize in 2020: A Hope from Hahoe(Dao Van Sang)

  • Grand Prize in 2020: To My First ASEAN Friend

It is easier than most people think to learn more about ASEAN cultures. Once you learn how to say a basic greeting in one of the ten countries’ languages and engage in a little cultural exchange with others, you will soon gain a sense of familiarity with ASEAN. Over the past few years, the ASEAN Culture House has hosted three contests for the Korean public, including, of course, ASEAN citizens, that focused on promoting ASEAN cultures and people-to-people exchanges. The winners of last year’s contest were a video detailing a Korean participant’s memories of a homestay in Bali and photos of a tourist’s encounter with an elderly gentleman at the Hahoe Folk Village in Andong.
This year, the contest will be accepting posters, illustrations, and webtoons on the theme “ASEAN in Korea, Korea in ASEAN.” Moving beyond photos and videos, we hope to receive a wide range of artworks showcasing participants’ unique creativity. We will consider virtually any submission, as long as it falls under the category of visual art and design. Explore the intersection of ASEAN and Korean culture, illustrate exchanges between Korean and ASEAN people, or focus on the relationship between the Mekong countries and Korea, as 2021 has been designated as “Mekong-ROK Exchange Year.” From mid-August until October, selected works will be displayed at the Special Exhibition Gallery on the first floor of the ACH. We look forward to seeing your creative submissions, showing your love for Korea and ASEAN!
