During the second and fourth week in April, the ASEAN Culture House offered a range of cultural programs focusing on Cambodia as part of its “Easy Access ASEAN” series. On two Thursday evenings, Professor Jeong Yeon-sik from Changwon National University and Professor Jeong Yeon-chang from the Catholic University of Daegu gave lectures about Cambodian culture. On the two Saturdays, cultural experience events for children were held, including a session to build 3D puzzles of Cambodian landmarks, an introductory Khmer language class, and a program to cook traditional Cambodian cuisine with overseas students and chefs from Cambodia. On the two Sundays, the Cambodian film “Golden Slumbers” was screened and SUM Sithen, a Cambodian film producer, talked about Cambodian films. Organized with the goal of helping participants become more familiar with Cambodian culture, these programs were provided through the cooperation with the Cambodian Embassy in Korea, the Busan International Film Festival, and the Busan Asian Film School.
