During the second and fourth week of June, the ASEAN Culture House hosted the “Easy Access Laos” program. On June 7 and 21, Gu-young Kwak, director of the Lao Cultural Center in Korea, and Yo-han Lee, professor at the Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, delivered lectures on Lao tourism and culture as part of the ACH Lecture Series “Useful and Mysterious ASEAN.” On June 9 and 23, classes were held to decorate small rubber shoes with Lao symbols, with participants also getting a brief introduction to the country by international students from Laos. The cooking classes taught participants how to prepare traditional Lao dishes, including laab, khao jee, and nam van saku. The program represented a host of opportunities to experience the culture of Laos, which is attracting growing attention as a tourist destination.
