Korea-Philippines History of Civilization Exchange

Korea-Philippines History of Civilization Exchange

· Author: Jeong-hyeon Park, Dong-yeob Kim and Lino N. Baron

· Publisher: Politeia (January 2015)

This volume on the Philippines is found within the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies Korea-Asia History of Civilization Exchange, a compilation of the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies resulting from the collaborative efforts of Asian academists and partnered Korean research institutes and publishers. While it provides an introduction of the political system, economy and international relations of the Philippines, it also speaks of the first exchanges of materials and labor resources, as well as the economic exchanges between the two countries. This is done through depictions of the state of Korea mentioned in the Pyohaesimal, the first Korea-based historical record of the Philippines, and other historical records of the country from the colonial era. It takes a comprehensive look at how the relationship between the two countries began, how it progressed forward, and charts the civilizational exchanges between the two sides.
