On April 18 and 21, Easy Access Cambodia and Cambodia Culture Day were respectively held at ASEAN Culture House. The first program, “ASEAN Travel Workshop: Cambodia” was organized in cooperation with the Association of Korea Travel Writers.
The lecturer, Mr. Lim Taek, who is well-known as the author of Travel Around the World on a Neighborhood Shuttle Bus, Introduced must-visit places in Cambodia and their significance as well as information on Cambodian culture and etiquette to keep in mind while staying in Cambodia.
On April 21, a Cambodian cooking class was held as a preliminary event. Participants had the opportunity to experience the culinary culture of Cambodia by cooking and tasting traditional Cambodian dishes, such as Khor Trey, Samlor Kako, and Nhoim Troyong Chiek.
The Cambodia Culture Day was opened with welcoming remarks by the Cambodian Ambassador to Korea. This was followed by a Cambodian New Year's Day ceremony with Cambodian students studying in South Korea and a splendid performance by the performance team of the Association of Cambodian Residents in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. Various other events ensued, including a children's class on Cambodian culture taught by the Ambassador of Cambodia, a special lecture on arts and crafts of Cambodia as well as a special lecture by a Cambodian tourism expert.
Easy Access Cambodia and Cambodia Culture Day provided a chance for participants to communicate with Cambodians and gain a deeper understanding of Cambodia by experiencing its vivid culture.
