Korean Cooking Classes for Multicultural Families:
2019 ASEAN Cooking Club

The 2019 ASEAN Cooking Club, a Korean cooking class for multicultural families, was held every Thursday from April 4 through 25. Participants learned how to cook Korean dishes, from well-known foods like bibimbap and pajeon, a Korean savory pancake made with scallions and seafoods, to easy-to-cook dishes like Korean omelet roll and cold cucumber and seaweed soup.
Those eligible for program participation were members of Multicultural Family Support Centers in various parts of Busan (Dong-gu, Haeundae-gu, Nam-gu, etc.). Over 80 immigrants from Vietnam and the Philippines took part in the program. The cooking class allowed participants to immerse themselves in Korean culture by learning to prepare Korean foods. Later this year, a cooking class will be led by a lecturer from ASEAN who was selected by the ACH. Don’t forget to participate!
