Trips to warmer locales are a popular way to avoid the piercing winds of winter. If you in search of a travel destination, try Bohol, an island in the Philippines that ranked first in the satisfaction by city category of the 2019 Overall Assessment of Satisfaction of Overseas Travel survey.
The Philippines consists of over 7,000 islets, with Cebu, one of the largest, and Bohol, the 10th largest, ranking among the country premier travel destinations. Korean President Moon Jae-in previously visited Bohol to attend the 2017 ASEAN Summit.
Out of all of Bohol’s tourist spots, the Chocolate Hills might be the most famous. These 1,200 cone-shaped hills turn brown in the summer, presenting a magnificent spectacle that resembles chocolate Hershey Kisses. While climbing the 214 steps up to the vantage point, you’ul be treated to beautiful scenery that looks like a work of art and unfolds into the sea. You can also visit Balicasag reef, noted as one of the best scuba diving spots in the world. In the clear and transparent waters, youthe meet rare sea creatures including colorful fish, pods of dolphins, and large sea turtles as you observe the tropical coral reefs.
And be sure to visit the tiny Philippine tarsiers, some of the world smallest primates. These rare creatures are endemic to Bohol and have the appearance of monkeys wearing glasses. Other major tourist spots too good to miss include Virgin Island, a pristine island of paradise, and the Loboc River, lined with dense tropical forests that call to mind the Amazon. Create winter memories full of summery aromas in Bohol, among some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the world.
