Based on a novel by Ramlee Awang Murshid with the same title, Tombiruo is a film that received positive reviews in Singarpore and Brunei Darussalam. The movie was first introduced to Korea at the 22nd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. The main character, Tombiruo, is a guardian of the jungle who fights with people who are destroying the jungle due to greed about land development. The film not only shows exciting action scenes but also the beauty of the nature around Kinabalu Mountain in East Malaysia’s Sabah region and even the lives of the biggest group of indigenous people in the region, the Kadazan-Dusun.
