The ASEAN Culture House (ACH) will be holding the ‘2019 ASEAN Youth Leader Program’ for nine days and eight nights (August 3–11) in order to cultivate the next generation leaders who will help to bridge Korea and ASEAN. This program will bring together 15 Korean students with multicultural backgrounds from ASEAN with 15 non-multicultural Korean students. They will travel across Busan and Hanoi for events such as lectures on ASEAN societies and cultures, visits to diplomatic sites, and cultural experiences with Vietnamese peers. Notably, three artists will travel together with the participants to run a creative workshop, helping students to create works of art that express what they experience during the course of the program. The results of this endeavor will be shown in a special exhibition in the Community Hall of the ACH.Through this program, we look forward to helping participants cultivate leadership skills and greater community spirit. We hope this shared educational opportunity will leave them better equipped to facilitate future exchanges between Korea and ASEAN member states.
