Easy Access Myanmar

Review
Easy Access Myanmar

Last August, the ASEAN Culture House held the ‘Easy Access Myanmar’ program in collaboration with the Embassy of Myanmar in Korea. On August 22, visitors joined travel writer Jin Woo-suk as he guided them through the charms of traveling in Myanmar as part of our ‘ASEAN Travel Workshop: Myanmar.’
On August 24 and 25, adults and children alike took part in several cultural experience programs, learning how to make Myanmar-style floating houses and participating in cooking classes. A ‘Myanmar Culture Play Zone’ was also set up to offer an experience of a variety of activities related to Myanmar. On Sunday, a performance was held by the multicultural theater company Salad. The company performed their musical ‘Harong Tutu,’ which starred children who had come to Korea after being born in Myanmar. Traditional Myanmar dances delighted the audience’s eyes and ears. The ASEAN Cultural Service will continue to introduce the cultures of the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam through the Easy Access ASEAN program.
