ASEAN Culture House is collaborating with the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (SICAF) and the Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival (BIKY) to host the 2019 ASEAN-Korea Animation & Kids Film Screening, “Bridging the World through Film,” for two months starting from June 1, 2019. A selection of 16 full-length and short films from SICAF and BIKY will be featured over eight days. The films include six full-length films and three short films from ASEAN countries, two full-length films and one short film from Korea, and two full-length films and two short films from other countries. There will also be many booths available where visitors can, among many other things, talk with directors, get a caricature drawing of themselves, or take a one-day animation class. We hope that this screening will provide everyone from children to teens to adults with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with rarely-seen works of ASEAN animation and children’s movies as well as with the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia.
