On May 20, the “2018 Global Gathering” was held to celebrate the “11th Together Day” at the APEC Naru Park. For the event, the ACH had set up the ASEAN Special Zone, which offered information about the ten ASEAN member countries. Visitors were able to enjoy a café offering different coffees, teas and desserts from the ASEAN region, allowing them to taste diverse aromas and flavors from each country. A photo zone featuring different landmark from each ASEAN country was also set up, enabling visitors to feel as if they were truly present at the corresponding locations. In addition, the ASEAN Special Zone offered an array of activities, including traditional ASEAN games and an introduction to ASEAN culture through sand art. The embassies of Cambodia and Myanmar as well as the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center also took part in the event to actively introduce their respective country’s culture. The 2018 Global Gathering, in which 96 foreign embassies in Korea participated, welcomed around 30,000 visitors from Korea and 41 foreign countries. Together, they enjoyed a host of traditional performances, delicious food and entertainment from all around the world.
