Amid the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Korea-Thailand diplomatic relations, the ASEAN Culture House held the Easy Access Thailand program and Thai Festival this past November, collaborating with multiple organizations, including the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, the Seoul National University Asia Center, the Department of Thai Language at the Busan University of Foreign Studies, and the Busan International Film Festival. It all began on the 8th, with a screening of the film Pee Mak (2013), followed by a live Movie Talk interview with director Banjong Pisanthanakun. The 9th meanwhile saw the hosting of a commemorative international conference, followed by the Graffiti Artist Mamablues’ Performance & Workshop for Children on the 10th. The 22nd welcomed the Useful and Mysterious ASEAN – Thailand Lecture, prior to the Thai Festival celebration on the 24th and 25th, held in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul. The festivities offered an invigoration of the senses through Thai culture, featuring traditional Thai costume try-ons, performances, cooking demonstrations of Thai cuisine, film screenings, culture workshops, and more, delighting the vast number of festivalgoers in attendance.
