Online Opening Ceremony of 2020 ASEAN-Korea Futurist (AKF)

On July 18, the opening ceremony of the 4th edition of the AKF program will be held. This year, the ceremony, usually hosted at the ACH, plans to hold online due to the ongoing measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. The ceremony begins with a welcoming speech by Director-General, Head of the ACH, followed by an introduction of the ACH and its programs and projects as well as information about the activities of the 4th AKF group. Participants also received a number of necessary items for their upcoming activities, and had a chance to get to know each other by performing group mission ahead of the ceremony. In the ceremony, there will be several sections including quiz show to learn the ACH and AKF program more. 

   The 4th AKF group will be the first to carry out its mission contactless, such as the “ASEAN Cooking Challenge,” in which they will create videos of them preparing ASEAN dishes, and the “ASEAN in Busan Vlog,” for which they will create videos exploring hidden ASEAN-related attractions in Busan. 

   Although offline activities have been drastically reduced compared to previous years, participants will still enjoy many opportunities to learn more about ASEAN and experience the region’s rich cultural diversity, and they will also be able to communicate closely with their fellow participants online. We look forward to the activities of the 4th group of ASEAN-Korea Futurists who we hope will grow into next-generation leaders to connect Korea and ASEAN.
