“Lantern Night in Viet Nam” in Celebration of the 30th Anniversaryof Diplomatic Relations between Korea and Viet Nam

The KF Asean Culture House will hold a special event, Lantern Night in Viet Nam, at the outdoor area of the ASEAN Culture House on Friday and Saturday, December 2-3, 2022. The event is being held in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Viet Nam. It will have three different sections: a photo zone, a dining space, and a cultural experience area.

The photo zone will consist of projection lighting, small crafts, and beach props arranged to resemble an evening scene in Viet Nam, making allowing visitors feel as though they are walking through the streets by the shore with lanterns. The space will be decorated so that visitors can enjoy taking photos and making wonderful memories.

The dining space will feature a food court resembling Viet Nam’s night markets where visitors can try Vietnamese cuisine. This zone will also offer cooking classes, along with coffee tasting and operate a booth that introduces popular coffee and snacks from Viet Nam.

Lastly, the cultural experience area will give visitors Vietnamese names and issue them honorary citizenship certificates. With the certificates, visitors can then borrow Vietnamese costumes which they can wear while taking pictures in the photo zone. In addition, books from the Culture House will be given away, and music from Viet Nam will be performed.Through the culture, food, and entertainment of modern Viet Nam, we hope to enhance the Korean public’s understanding of and familiarity with Vietnamese culture, while also strengthening people-to-people exhanges.
